The boy was bored. There were no two ways about it. Even the lizard that he was watching flick out its tongue to catch a fly wasn't enough to hold his interest. Typically the smallest of things fascinated him. But not even this could rouse him to excitement. The Grotto was quiet, not lacking in noise itself but in the ways of company.

The wind blowing through the entrance to the Grotto has Pyp quickly jumping up to his dim paws. "Papa!?" He called out expectantly as the wind stirred the leaves. But that was all it was, just an errant breeze and not a visitor of the living kind.

Disappointment dimmed the boy further so that he was barely an outline any longer. It had him sinking back to the ground and laying his head between his paws. He consoled himself with the thought that Papa was out looking for Mama to bring her to visit too.

Daario had a bad habit of lingering longer than he should, sometimes. As a father he knew that young @Pypar sometimes had a hard time adjusting to the life of a Spectre. No child should have to endure death, but it seemed like this could be torture for them. At such a young age their curiosity was endless and to not be able to truly do much must be tough. So he liked to think that he could help keep the boy company. Good morning Pypar, he offered as he came next to the boy and mimicked his form - laying with his head between his paws with a gleam in his eyes.

Pypar looked up forlornly at the other Spectre in the Grotto. "Papa gone." While the boy had no real concept of time he could say it had been longer than usual since he had last seen Tyrion. "Papa go other place?" For awhile Pyp had assumed his father dead and himself alive. It was how he explained his father's frequent absences. He had been young at death and still retained that mindset despite the years he had spent within the Grotto. He couldn't really remember being any other place. And he had never paused to think how he wasn't getting any bigger. Some part of him just assumed he would be big one day and not realizing he would have already been an adult if he hadn't died.

"I no sick no more. That why no Papa?" He could remember having been sick a lot in his life but he didn't remember dying. He only remembered waking up in the Grotto and his cough being all gone. "I get sick. Make Papa come back?"

Sadness immediately touched to his face as the young boy commented that papa was gone. A certain king of sadness that only a son or father could truly know and Daario could feel the loneliness seeping through their ghostly forms. There was no need for talk as he could feel everything like a thick blanket over him. I cannot be sure, my boy. Instinctively using my boy as a term of endearment, not calling him his son or anything obviously. If anything, Daario wanted to give him the comfort of a psuedo father in the absence of the one among the living. Surely nothing had happened to him... Daario didn't want to fear the worst but it was hard to when he had such limited information on what was going on out there. Being sick will not make him come back, I'm afraid. For he would most certainly have a hard time being sick to begin with but he didn't want to be the bearer of bad news if he didn't have to be.

"Papa here all time when sick." So of course it made sense to him that if he got sick again then his Papa would come back. How to get sick was a different matter entirely. Pypar had no idea how he had gotten sick in the first place. He only remembered being sick and then not being sick.

"Where you Papa?" Because Pyp had a Papa that would come to visit him he expected that everyone had a Papa that came to visit too. Things worked out just that simply for him. If it happened to him then it happened to others too.

Daario felt his heart ache for the boy, his cheeks rising up with apprehension as he continued to worry. @Pypar had always been a very joyful child then and now, and the Valour could not fathom what it must feel like to be abandoned by one's father. So the spectre sighed and laid down in the best sense of a spectre's limitations, and pulled out his right foreleg to beckon the child over. Come here, my boy. There was nothing more painful than having to tell a child some truths but he needed to know what was going on in his life even if he might be sad, happy or upset. When you were sick, your Papa did the best he possibly could. Making sure that you had the best care in the world, he paused feeling the heavy burden of such a topic weighing on him like as though he were the father that had failed to keep a child alive because .. well, he had been. Bijou who often hung out with Lucretia in the afterlife and didn't get out much either. sometimes our best still struggles. Your sickness took over and brought you here, to the Grotto. To be a spirit. Daario was eager to continue on to explain more to him but already he had said quite a lot. A lot of words that Pypar would likely need to swallow in order to grasp much more. Plus, he was ready for any blowback or questions that the child had to give him. Ultimately scared that he wouldn't be able to make the boy understand.
