We know that this topic has caused a lot of stress for many of the members within our community, and the Staff team would like to start off by thanking everyone for their patience, input, and willingness to share their thoughts and feelings. We also apologize if the topic stirred any negative emotions for those who were involved — we hope that with our new guidelines in place, we can all heal and move forwards together. Everyone has their own story, and we want to remind everyone that you are never alone, and that the community is here to support, uplift, and create a safe place for you to write and enjoy your time.
We have heard from a lot of the members over the last few weeks, and so we want to thank everyone who reached out and spoke with us. There were a lot of emotions involved, no matter what opinions someone held, and Staff have put a lot of time, energy, and effort into crafting a solution that works for the site long-term, while also protecting the welfare of our members. We did not want to put a plot above someone else's trauma, nor did we want to take away an outlet that others use to work through that trauma.
We understand that these changes may not be 'perfect' to everyone, but we ask that everyone gives the new guidelines a chance to play out. No matter what your opinion was on what should have been done, we are hoping that this is a good, reasonable middle ground. Staff will be continuing to monitor the guidelines to make sure they are working as intended. The rules are subject to change as per the discretion of Staff. If you have concerns or questions, please reach out to an Admin.
With new stringency for TW threads in general, threads that are found without the proper warnings should be brought to the attention of Staff (i.e. via DMs, a ticket, or the use of the Voltaire bot). If you come across a thread that is properly tagged and the topic is something you are uncomfortable with, please do not read the thread.
The new guidelines for using trigger warnings and for sexual assault plots are as follows. This will be placed on its own guidebook page for easy reference. Please read all the way to the end as we cover TW in Discord as well.
Thank you all,
Staff
On Amaryllis, we ask that our members use the trigger warning system when mentioning, plotting, writing histories, adoption threads, or roleplaying topics that may trigger and/or upset members.
- The trigger warning needs to be placed at the very top of every post before any IC content is written.
- The trigger warning must be used alongside the TW or TWP thread tag.
- You must state the reason for the trigger warning, as per the code below.
- When in doubt, add it.
Failure to follow these guidelines (including failure to use the mandatory code) will result in a reminder from Staff, followed by the enforcement of our site’s strike system for rule-breaking.
Topics That Require A Trigger Warning
- Sexual assault, violence, abuse, and rape.
- Suicide and self-harm.
- Heavy mentions of depression.
- Explicit blood, gore, or death.
- Drug use paired with sex.
- Incest.
**If you have a topic you think should be added to this list, please reach out to an Admin.
Use and Guidelines
TW topics are permitted in posts, histories, backstories, etc. with the proper trigger warnings and as long as guidelines are followed.
- The use of a trigger warning in a signature is NOT enough and will not cover the actions that occur within a post. We do, however, encourage the use of signatures if there are TW items attached to the character in some way.
Sexual assault/violence, sexual abuse, and rape are permitted in backstories and can be mentioned/referenced to in posts (given that it is labelled appropriately) but the physical action cannot be actively roleplayed on-site
- If you wish to engage in an SA plot, it must be moved to DMs. If you know a thread is going to steer in this direction, we ask that you keep it off site.
- If it comes up in a thread and needs to be moved off-site, please fade out prior to any action taking place.
- Consent from all parties must be explicitly given to engage in these plots.
- Chatlogs can be submitted to an Admin if there is a desire for cubs. These logs will not be placed on site and staff does not need to see the whole log, just of the mating.
Public Threads: Mentioning TW topics in smaller public threads (a few people) is permitted so long as you are following the guidelines. However, we ask that in large, public threads (like pride challenges, IC events, etc.), you keep details to a minimum or err on the side of caution, due to the number of members that are typically involved and/or reading the thread.
Private Threads: Mentioning and roleplaying TW topics in private threads is more lenient than in public threads, so long as all guidelines are being followed.
- Keep in mind the site’s rating, and always get consent from your rp partner before the thread, if TW topics are going to be involved.
Mandatory Code
When mentioning or engaging in a TW topic, every applicable post must have the following code at the very top, before any IC content.
<img src="/images/MauaTW.png" align="left" width="50%"><div style="padding-top:100px;padding-bottom:120px;">This content might touch on topics that are sensitive or triggering for some readers. <b>Trigger Warning for mentions of [insert post TW topics here]</b></div>
<br />
Alternate 1:

Alternate 2:
<center><img src="/images/TWsign2.png" width="50%"><div style="padding-top:10px;padding-bottom:10px;"">This content might touch on topics that are sensitive or triggering for some readers. <b>Trigger Warning for mentions of [insert post TW topics here] </b></div></center><br />
All mentions of Trigger Warning topics, including sexual assault, need to be hidden behind spoilers and prefaced by a TW in the server. If you would like to talk in further detail to someone else on the topic, please take it to your personal DMs.
- This includes plot mentions, sharing information about your character’s backstory, linking to things on-site, and anything else that is affiliated with a TW topic.
- There are no exceptions to this.
