He took a seat, swiping a paw over his face and cleaning out some small matts from his mane. Couldn’t look unpresentable. He already got jabbed out for being short. Couldn’t afford to be made fun of for a piece of dirt on his face. Rolling his eyes, he placed a golden paw back down. Eyes narrowing as he waited. Sure that someone would come trying to recruit him. Or something. He’d not had to do it himself, so few came through the deserts. By the time they got near his home... well, they were practically a snack for the vultures. Vultures like the many picking on the resources of this lands, he was sure.

Well, seemed Han was late to the party. Oopsies! The stale scent of many who’d come through filling his nose. Huh. Many.... MANY others. Gods above, had he come to a place of great migration? He had half a mind to turn around right then but... his paws were tired, and he’d been traveling for a long time! Ah what the heck, staying a few nights here couldn’t be too bad! One could hope, anyways. He grumbled as he crossed the slot into the new lands. Ah, would you smell that! Absolutely nothing! Just old scents and some... somewhat fresher ones, of lions passing through. Surely there had to be multiple prides at this point. Lands like this didn’t stay without them for long. Not that he had too much interest in them, nowadays.

He was up and ready by early morning sunrise - just before the dawn colored the sky he was exploring the location for any that remained to wander around alone. Prideless. And thus later on when he found an older male he stopped and greeted him kindly, he was getting used to this he had to admit it. "Hello Traveler, welcome to Amaryllis. I am Diuris Yeager - Sovereign of the Lagoon to the east." he informs the man. Taking a breath, he noted no hints of other scents along with his person as he stood in front of him.

Soon enough a King was in front of him. He looked like one, with that flowing fur and all. Though younger than Haniel, he was... much... much taller. Probably taller than average, if Haniel had to guess. Though it wasn’t a feat to be taller than this Napoleon. He hummed in greeting. “Haniel Kader, nice to meet you.” A lagoon... now what on earth was that? It sounded sort of like lake, right? Same sounds and all. But he couldn’t be sure. He’d not seen much water in his time. In fact, he was a bit concerned this little pathway was surrounded by... lots of water. Although he supposed he’d never have chapped lips again.
“Can you tell me more about your home?” He asks, feigning interest. Really he just wanted to know what the hell a Lagoon was but didn’t want to sound dumb. He probably should know what lots of things were, at his age. But alas, living in a desert gave you few opportunities to see other places. He kept his eyes on the stranger the whole time. A handsome one, to be sure. Poor thing looked like he’d been in a scrap not too long ago, though the wounds were healing well. His cheek had a puncture in it, ah, what a shame to his face. Hm... probably wouldn’t be wise to flirt, though. Seeing as that’s how he’d been cast out of his last home.

"Greetings, @Haniel Kader, Welcome to Amaryllis." he stated softly. Vasilis would bend his head back up atop his shoulders, shift his weight before listening to the man before him. He had questions and that was perfectly fine for the sandy king. "The Lagoon is the east of here, we are surrounded by the sea but connected by it through a passage that sometimes gets covered by low tides. The Lagoon has beaches, dunes, hills covered in seagrasses, and palm trees. And at the center of it is a crystal clear lake that holds an array of colors within its source." he nods "We are a neutral pride, members can come and go, and leave if they wish to go somewhere else. Everyone is equal regardless of their sex, rank, or bloodline. Cubs are to be raised, protected, and taught by ALL members even if that child has a family there or not. Everyone has to pick up their weight and help out the Pride. Ranks are allowed to be obtained but the higher ones must seek my permission first." he nodded. He hoped that had helped the man with learning about his home.

The other seemed eager to explain, and Haniel stayed quiet as he listened. The mention of equality causing a slight ear twitch. Interesting. His pride hadn’t worked quite like that, which he had both liked and hated. It had been convenient, because he was born an heir, but when they’d found out he was interested in men... well that hadn’t worked out in his favor, had it? The rest of his rules he was used to. In a desert pride, you had to help the cubs and help with hunting, no matter how high your rank. If someone died of dehydration or the like... well someone had to take care of their family. “Your laws are quite agreeable, I must admit.” His voice was a bit loud, though not in a raised-voice sort of way. He was just a loud one. His voice neither necessarily low nor high in pitch. “Would someone be allowed to stay... say, for a few nights?”
He did need somewhere to stay. A place where he had no worries about water? Well, that sounded like a deal to him. “Of course, I’d help the handsome Sovereign and his pridemates with hunting, and the like.” Oops, perhaps a tiny compliment/flirt had slipped in there. Dear him. No harm though, he liked speaking his mind. Hopefully Dirius just accepted the compliment without it becoming awkward. That was the downfall of wanting to compliment and flirt with every pretty man, they made it weird.

"Of course @Haniel , If one needed a home for say a week - then they are welcome for a week. If they are wanting to stay 3 full moons, Then they are welcome to do so. If they want to stay a week and become a full member in that week that to is welcome." he smiled.
The light flirting of the lion made him blush, he had to admit he had not one person be so outright with it before now. He shifted and laughed under his breath "Well Any help would be very welcomed from all that are able to." he winked back. He waited a few more minutes to shift his weight on his toes before nodding. "So, Will the Lagoon have you Sir Haniel? If so, I'd love to escort you there and give you the tour of our beautiful home." he waited patiently to find out.

The other gave him just the answer he wanted to hear, and he smiled briefly. Oh, and a wink, now that was truly a treat. Well, if he were accepting of his advances, and a king? The Lagoon may be a better fit than he thought. Hm... many things to consider. “Yes, I think the Lagoon shall, but just as a guest for now, don’t get too excited.” He chuckled, flirtation still lilting in his voice. Haniel didn’t think he’d regret this decision, actually. “Lead the way, I must make sure to move to a den near yours, before someone else snaps it up.” This one had a bit more of a joke to it, not wanting to pressure the other. Yes, Haniel could be considerate, he just wasn’t often.

He laughed. "And a Guest you shall be." He then stood up, his eyes looking at @Haniel with a smile. "You shall be an honorary guest under my name. And the day you decide to change that - you but need to call me" Vasilis moved and turned on his heels, seeking forward and turning to the direction of his Lagoon. "Come let me escort you to the Lagoon and show you a good place to reside." he laughed at his remark about finding a den near his own.
"You'd hate it - nothing but shrubs and tree's as it's a bit far from the beaches of the lagoon's seaward side." he shrugged. "If that's still okay then I shall find a good place." with that he nodded and headed out. To the Lagoon, they went.

The other was certainly amused. Ah, the old Kader charms were still in place, then. Hmmm hopefully he could sneak out one night and run into the Sovereign, talk to him with no eyes on them. Oh yes, that sounded quite perfect. But for now he kept his plans to himself, following after Dirius’ fluffy tail tip. At the mention of shrubs, he scoffed, “I’m from the desert, that’d be more than alright.” A nice, cool place to live. He’d have to find a pelt or someone to cozy up with. Or else he’d probably freeze to death. This place was already so much cooler than his home.
