A feisty thing born baring all the traits typically associated with the Black and a desire to please her family. However, a maroon marking across her face - an unsightly birthmark - has cast Taipan as undesirable. This has come to shape her life growing up and her sense of worth as she grapples with the reality of her genetic inferiority. As a child, she would have smeared black soot to paint herself black and covered her blemish but cruel age has taught her that she cannot hide from what she is.

Taipan desperately craves the approval of her family in whatever form they may grant it to her. Her very identity is tied to the Black's, and it is all she knows. She would do just about anything to gain entry to the privileged circle of "Black" family members (even stooping to "physical" favors, should it mean becoming closer to that end), even if such a circle is forever barred from her. It is a fantasy that drives her every move.

Taipan is a bright and cunning girl, having learned many manipulative tactics in order to elicit preferential treatment and avoid punishments. She is quite able to hold her own in witty conversation, but generally remains reserved in social situations. Taipan fancies herself an important, albeit thankless, part of the Black family.

Resentment and fear harbors towards those who are cruel to her and while Taipan fills her designated role as a subordinate, she every bit the snake the other Black's are. These secret shortcomings fester within her and while she is not quick to judge family, those who would harm her or her own earn a deep and foul grudge. When you are already at the bottom, there is no further one can stoop.

REQUIEM BLACK grey coat - markings Requiem is cold hearted and cut throat. To a mere bystander she can appear to be a bit detached, and devoted, but only those closest to her are able to see the ruthlessness that lies beneath. Weakness, recklessness, and stupidity, or what she perceives as stupidity, are the worst crimes an individual can commit. In her eyes, loyalty as well as trust should be earned and fought for, and is easier to lose than it is to gain. She is patient, calculating, never showing her hand unless the chance of success is greater than the chance of losing. She is not one to be trusted. Her words can be sweet as honey but the intent beneath is almost always self serving. Her only true allegiance is to the Black family as a whole, and it matters very little to her who is at the helm as long as she feels their leader will improve and further their legacy. She is always careful with her words, but that doesn’t mean she will shy away from being harsh or critical when she feels it’s necessary. wip
