With each day that had passed since her abrupt ascension, Gemma had realized just how much she liked being here. It wasn't even the folks since she had only met Roan so far personally, but it was about the setting. She had loved her last home but not in the same way she loved Firnen. Only been here a few days and already she was in love. The shade was brilliant, the cool temperature most welcome on her darker coat but most of all she loved sleeping where the ground wasn't dusty.

This place had everything and more, the only question was how ranks were situated. Gemma hadn't heard a whole lot of ranks being talked about in the time that she'd been at their meeting but she couldn't be certain that she hadn't missed anything either. Perhaps she could work her way into a higher position and get into the good graces of those present. Gemma didn't know that her rendition of Lord and Lady was in the form of "Noble" but she would gladly take whatever she could. Opting this time in a pride to test the water before she triumphantly sought to challenge for it. Best to know who was here first and who else might be vying for such a placement.

So the gray woman was happy to walk the length of the territory and get a good look at the surroundings. Keeping a careful eye on each tree as she passed, its height massive compared to other trees outside. The plant life abundant even through the coming winter. Certainly a place that would be good for medic skills that she was well-acquainted with. It might not be her first or second skill, but she was good at it. The sun attempted to filter through the canopy above and and that sly little grimace came to her face as she halted, closing her eyes and taking in the warm ray that settled upon her.

There was a lot that changed about the Rainforest, and it was a lot for Ismae to have to adjust to. From being under Kimagure's rule, to Avreya's rule, and now ruling alongside Roan; things were definitely new and rather difficult to process.

The lithe woman merely found herself traveling the expanse of the land she'd come to call home. Her stride was careful, calculative, her gaze observing the small details of the landscape around her, studying it, committing more of it to memory as if she hadn't done this a thousand times already...

But, she was rather pleased to catch the scent of another.

The woman was new to the pride, joined at the meeting as Roan allowed her within, and Ismae was interested in getting to know her, to learn about her, and perhaps hopeful to maybe bond with her- Ismae was rather lonely now that she lost the lioness she was closest to in the pride, Avreya.

Letting out a low chuff, Ismae called to the woman and neared calmly, a pleasant smile on her face. "I hope you don't mind the company." She spoke, presenting herself as the sun warmed on her spine, a welcoming feeling from the bitter cold that was starting among the lands.

There was no surprise within her as she noticed the incoming sound of paws hitting the ground. When you lived in a pride there was not a whole lot of privacy, especially when you were the newest to the bunch. She was sure that she was going to be quite the wonder for at least a couple weeks. Though, she was surprised to see that it was @Ismae, Roan's co-leader that belonged to the sound of those paws.

Not at all, she mused and decided that now was a good time to become slightly more social with her pride mates. It gave her the opportunity to see what Ismae was like and what she looked for in a member. Gemma was a rather ambitious woman when it came to the pride but she also didn't want to take what someone who had been here before had. At least, not when she was still fresh. Only a matter of time before I'm not the fresh meat anymore, after all. She smiled, putting a joke upon herself to ease the small amount of tension she had at pleasing her superiors. Luckily, her newfound blood-related status with Roan would surely be a good boost to her social status.

Ismae was relieved to hear the acceptance in the other's tones, her limbs carrying her closer until she lowered down on her haunches a few yards away. Her gaze observed the lioness, taking in the details of her appearance- the way her fur was laced with pattern, and how her size was notably larger than Ismae's own.

Ears flicked at her words and Ismae felt a smirk come to her lips. She knew that feeling all too well. "I wouldn't worry about that too much, i'm sure people are more distracted by the changes going on." She remarked, because after all this leadership change was one of the many if the past few seasons. Old pride members left, only a few stayed, and new ones had just joined... it was all surreal and a headache, but Ismae knew things would be worth it.

"Have you settled in well? Found a good den?" She asked then, curious if Gemma had been able to grow comfortable in the Rainforest, or if there was anything Ismae might be able to help her out with by chance.

There was no reason to concern herself with worrying over whether or not she would be accepted. Gemma wasn't the easiest pill to swallow sometimes and she definitely didn't have a whole lot of training in being formal, despite being an Ambassador. She just had a different way of handling things and it had gotten her quite far even with its challenges. Hopefully Roan and @Ismae would recognize that she marched to a different tune and beat altogether. And to think I was afraid that my unorthodox joining might turn a few heads, she teased as hardly anyone had even noticed save for a few higher ranked individuals that surely recognized that she wasn't a previous member. Not that it wasn't for lack of trying, however. Quite well, actually. My last home was quite a bore scenery wise so it's nice to be in a pride that's got a hell of a lot more greenery. That dang dusty crater had been a nice neighborhood but she was definitely much more of a forest-dweller than a desert cat.
