[OOC: Naming Ceremony for the Khulani kids! <3 No posting order (OUTSIDE) of the boys + JJ. Everyone in CC is free to come, but pls to be not interrupting ;D]
Jewel had been waiting for this day, and it was with great excitement that she rose and made sure that preparations were done well in advance. The boys had been born just after dawn - sometime in the hours before noon. So she would make sure that their naming day would begin around the same time. The queen was up well before dawn, and moving back and forth as she gathered things that she usually did.
There was a difference.. her original 'naming day' for her first litter had been a ceremony - yes.. but they had been rogues.. so the ability to gather things and prepare was limited.. And she felt sad that she wasn't able to offer the older children such an extravagance.. The lioness picked over her collection of treasures, making sure that she chose something for each young lion that meant something of importance to her, but would also be a gift that they could (hopefully) hold in importance to themselves.
As the sun broke over the sands of the Cove, she looked down at her small gathering of treasures one last time and swallowed nervously, using a paw to slide the items further apart into their three separate groupings on the Zebra hide. She had taken the time to think of how the boys had grown and changed.. and added a few other items to their small 'gifts'.
To the left - a long, almost pristine flight feather from a blue parrot. It was joined by a gemstone she had found in her travels and had hung onto it from almost the beginning - the colors of blue and green chasing each other around the depths. It also had a large claw that she had taken from one of the cheetahs in the area. Maybe it shouldn't have tried to steal her lunch... It was wrapped in a thin piece of leather chewed from the hide of a gazelle and tied into what would work as a necklace or as a decoration in a den.
To the center was an olive branch, one she had gone on a long search to find and finally found in the last few days. Beside it was the pristine flight feather of a dove, and beside that a shining gemstone from deep within the caverns, the pure white color reminding her of the stars overhead. Something she had kept with her and looked at fondly. For when one used the moon to let the light shine through the quartz, it left glimmering lights upon the ceiling. There was a thread of leather stripped from the hide of a rabbit wrapped around the quartz to create a necklace. Soft and fuzzy - like the lion it would now belong to.
To the right was a third carefully placed pile. Within that pile was a tooth from a gorilla - one of the first 'major' attacks she had made upon coming to these lands. It wasn't something she liked to think about as the gorilla had CERTAINLY won.. but she'd gained it's canine tooth in the process around it was wrapped a thin band of leather chewed from the hide of a zebra.. A prize she had kept with her because it reminded her of what was beyond the beyond. Paired with it was the flight feather of an eagle, and a stone that looked like it held fire within the depths of the orange and yellow colors. Jewel had found the gem in the mountains, and it reminded her of the courage she had felt - and she often looked at it when she felt she was too lost.
The 'necklaces' had been made for her sons - and she didn't expect them to wear them - they could simply be a decoration for their chosen dens. But each item reminded her of the boys in some form or fashion and she stared down at the gatherings with no small amount of pride. Finished with her offerings, the twin tailed lady would watch the sun rise further into the sky - and when she felt it was at the right height as it had been that day.. she called to her sons. @Keir @Kyon @Topaz.
Jewel would hope that @Remi and @Sanson would also come - so that they could see what would be in store for them when THEY turned one... She just didn't know their birthdays and would have to make a concentrated effort to find that out...
