They were quick about their fight, offense taken on one side it seemed, while the one to offend still carried herself to victory in the end. It seemed strange to Ani that things would unfold that way, but perhaps enough justice and fairness had been dealt by the death of the woman in the pit that there wasn’t enough to go around any further. Just as well; she had no further interest in remaining with the big spectacle complete and so many rising from their seats to either partake of the spoils or gossip amongst their peers.

She turned her face into her brother again, sheltering against his shoulder, when she heard what sounded like a sigh, a soft, breathy exhale from his other side. Knowing who was there, Aneistri sat forward, leaned around him, and was surprised to note the little cloud had fallen over, unconscious and leaning now against another lion who had quietly joined them in Ani’s distraction. Was she…? Oh. Apparently she hadn’t been the only one to feel the physical effects of witnessing the fight.

This, strangely enough, helped to ground the Saxe lioness, giving her renewed purpose. She knew how to handle this. She nudged @Orei’s foreleg and gestured with a nod of her muzzle at @Genesis in case he hadn’t noticed, and spoke up to the lion, @Griffith, who now supported her. “I can bring her back up, if we can get her outta here first,” she offered, her voice strengthening around something to do. Her eyes fell to her chest, noting the absence of her herb pouch—she was getting awfully forgetful with it lately—and sighed. “I’ll have to go to the Plains first…”

Another voice, one she would have recognized anywhere, had her head snapping around to look at her guardian as @Reti ♔ addressed both her and her brother. Her mouth hung slightly agape, one part of her desperately ready and happy to take that offered out from this place—a place that had at one point held a very special memory of meeting her Silly friend—but she hesitated. Genesis…they needed to get her awake. “I’ll go with Reti,” she said to Orei, trying to assuage any worry that might have been lingering behind his teal eyes. “Get her outta here, and I’ll find you. She might wake up before I get there, but if she doesn’t, I’ll take care of it.”

She bumped her nose against his leg affectionately, cast one more assessing look at the unconscious lioness, before turning to note Reti had moved on, seeking conversation with someone else—the X’eukai leader of the Vermeda Brook. Something twisted inside Aneistri’s still unsettled stomach, writhing as if trying to get away. No. She didn’t want to go back there. Rather than join her guardian, reveal how she'd been stolen away from the Brook at the last war (if the queen had noticed), she slipped silently away; she would find him along the way to the Plains, join him a little closer along the return trip. And then, with her herbs in tow, would hopefully be able to help Orei’s friend recover.

The words that flew, the way the fight ended had the lions ruby gaze narrowing on the fighters. He listened as the bystanders spoke, gathering information on the words of the lion from the Brook - and the words of the lion with the dark hide.. the way they spoke of the female fighting in the center. It was all quite interesting truth be told.

The wheaten male remained still, his eyes following the words of the bystanders as they passed around in swift succession, though he didn't understand all of what was being said. The male did do his best to catalogue what he was learning before he watched the little female fall beneath the other.

His gaze narrowed, watching as the victorious male offered the head to another group.. his lips twisting into a smile as he also catalogued that information away for later use and thought.

His eyes flicked to the fight as it ended in spectacular fashion, and the dark male emerged victorious. Rhesk felt his lips twist into a macabre grin as he watched the victor reap his spoils of war. The pale beast would rumble in pleasure - a soft sound from where he was hiding before his eyes turned towards Icefang and Reti, his eyes narrowing as he noted their discussion of release of prisoners.

He would strain to listen - so he could bring the information to his mother once he was sure that what he was hearing was correct. Not that Brighid couldn't listen for herself, that is, but Rhesk, as the Summit's scout would still do his due dilligence and ensure that he was able to carry out the job his mother had assigned to him. He lingered as the other lions began to leave... watching for anything new he might learn.

She watched, her silver gaze narrowing on the fight as it ended and the dark lion emerged victorious. She hummed thoughtfully as she watched the lions surrounding the pit begin to descend, those that had a dog in the fight coming to mingle... and those that didn't dispersing.

With a flick of her fail tip, she rose to her own feet and sauntered away, intending to disperse right along with the rest of those departing. Solri really didn't have much of a dog in this fight herself- but she did find it intriguing nonetheless. Perhaps, it would be a little food for thought for a rainy day...

He watched the fight, or rather - observed in the way that the dark lion could. Thruum let his ears and nose do the work for him. He would listen as his mother released some prisoners into the hands of another and the beast tilted his head towards her before he rose, pacing after his mother as she left the pit, intending to return back to the Brook to ply her with questions so he could learn a few things for the future.

Of course, Thruum had many things on his thoughts while he walked, his whiskers and the fur on his hide leading him unerringly through the plains of the lands in which he had returned. The blind lion moving with a sureness of step that was birthed of necessity as well as simple skill in survival.

Kireena frowned as the fight drew to a close before she rose to her feet, giving @Kirja a nudge in the direction of the plains before she looked at @Levana with a smile. "It was good to see you my friend... we should catch up soon.." the red druid would murmur as she shifted to guide her son away from the chaos and back towards the plains where they could perhaps go over a few things so that he would learn for future events what things like this might turn into. The red lioness was glad Levana was doing well - and hoped to run into her again. Perhaps.. with a different outcome than the last time they had last wseen one another... //Exit//

He shifted when mother rose and also stepped away, intending to followed Kireena back towards the Plains. Kirja had learned a few things - but mostly, he was confused... who these lions were, and why they were trying to kill one another mostly. The youth padded alongside his large mother as they left, keeping pace easily enough with her on the trip despite his slightly smaller size and stride.

Still, he glanced over his shoulder from time to time, frowning at the carnage left behind and found that he was worried of the aftermath. Perhaps, he would pester mother later and discover w hat she might know that could lead him to having an understanding of what it was he had witnessed...

No. Do not touch it Pyrrha utters to the stranger who has asked for the heat. It is mine. And it is hers to do with as she please. In this case... She leaves it behind. The gift is acknowledged with a nod but Pyrrha does not pick it up, does not touch nor move it an inch. She can hardly stand to look at it. The threat is gone, this chapter closes and she does not need a reminder of it. Such an ugly thing does not have a place in her collection. In her life. The gesture is more than enough and stirs a complicated assortment of feelings in her she'll need to address later with Kvare. But now is not the time.

She half watches her father tiredly move towards Drauhir and the gathering her little brother has commanded. She didn't move right away- not until the victor was stable enough to be transported and they began to leave. It was time for her to go. It sounds like your cubs will be returned home. Congratulations. She says to @Cassius ♔ as she moves to depart and head for her brother and family to ensure Kvare's safe exit from the scene. A parting nod is given to the Vermedan and then she leaves his company fully.

He wasn't terribly surprised when the woman that was talking was jumped, and he was instinctively moving to stand between @Lorelei and the fight when he saw her look past him at something that seemed to disturb her. He looked back to see the carnage that had been left of the woman and grimaced slightly, instead stepping forward to block her view. She didn't need to see all that, he thought, even if it hadn't seemed to bother her. Since it obviously did, this was the only right thing to do.

We should probably get back to the Brook, he said softly to her, because everyone was leaving now and he knew she'd once been part of the Brook, so he didn't want them to start looking like a target. Though, no one seemed to be aggressive towards the Brook members. They were even offered to take the body, which Icefang sent someone else to do, thankfully. And indeed it was time for them to go home. Well, maybe they could keep the peace for a little longer this time.

His steadfast gaze did not waver - in fact the focus this male gave her went beyond flattering and into what would have been creepy if he wasn't handsome enough to pull it off. She wanted to kill my brother - And now she's dead. Well, that was certainly a twist in the tale. Her brow quirked just slightly, ruby eyes flickering all over his face to see if she could glean any further information there. Was he worried, angry, fearful? There were always micro-expressions, subtle twitches and movements that could be read. "And why would she want to kill your brother? Did he piss her off?" She asked, referring back to the man's initial comment - Remind me not to piss anyone off.

The gory scene before her was in some ways morbidly fascinating, but she was grateful for the boys insistence that she didn't need to watch. Her fiery gaze shifted back to him, his obvious desire not to look himself causing the minute twitch of amusement to roll over her lips. "Don't forget to blink, Isildur Savante." She tried to suppress the giggle that bubbled up but it fluttered out nonetheless. "I'm Helena - Tollaire." She tacked on, knowing that family names were important around here. "Where are you from, Isildur?"

And more to the point, what was the background to all of this. "Also - who is - was - she? And seriously, why did she want to kill your brother? Is that your brother? He looks pretty old?" Not like, old old but the victorious opponent certainly was not of a similar age to this male before her. Chattering away, she realised she'd asked far too many questions at once and shot the boy a sheepish grin in silent apology for the bombardment.
