A certain nefarious leopard found his way into a Vermedan queen's bedroom! Arcania and Lorant have flirted off and on since the spy competition at the winter games, and have recently entered some kind of situationship. The days-long tryst resulted in Arcania's pregnancy, and while we are very excited for some of the only leopons yet born onsite, it remains to be seen just how pleasant Amaryllis will allow their childhood to be.

* while either of us would enjoy playing a cub, we want to give first dibs to other people to audition. It is possible that we will play them depending on interest but that is a backup plan
Lorant
Unfortunately, there will likely be none. He subscribes fully to the leopard way of breeding and then moving on without any involvement in the rearing of cubs. It is not likely that they will ever even know their father’s name, as he introduced himself to Arcania as “Luca”, and tends to use a different name wherever he goes. While meeting him someday is not entirely off the table (as long as he stays alive,) Lorant will probably not be forthcoming about his paternity with anyone. Really the most you can ever hope for is a pat on the shoulder before he disappears into the forest again, and he’s more likely to just spy without revealing himself.
(That said, Max is still fully invested as an OOC parent and will love your babies! Pls let me thread with them with my other characters)
Arcania
Arcania is... not the best mother (Just ask @Temero, he'll tell you). Still, with these two she will try to be the doting mother that's expected. She will not hold them to the same standard of perfection as she does her first"born" son, but she will have great expectations for them. Whatever they choose to do, she will expect them to do it well. She will also attempt to pass on her knowledge of toxicology and stealth and spying, but if they don't take to it she won't be (outwardly) disappointed. She has a hard time being openly affectionate, but in private is willing to do so. Heaven help the poor soul who thinks to say something bad about the little ones, or to lay a claw on them.
X'uekai are traditionally partriarchal, but under Icefang's rule that has begun to fall by the wayside. Whether or not that will continue to be the case with Cassius taking over as patriarch remains to be seen, but Arcania herself will not be teaching them to believe this. The family has strong evil tendencies, as does Arcania herself, but anything up to Chaotic Neutral would likely be reasonable. Which isn't to say that she can't have good aligned children, but they'd be getting their ideals from somewhere other than her and the rest of the family.
They have a plethora of cousins, along with many half-aunts/uncles and... Zena's lost track of the family tree at this point with Cassius but suffice to say they won't suffer for lack of having family around. Their older brother, Temero, will likely more or less be a giant pushover with them, but depending on their temperaments and how things go he's likely to experience some serious jealousy issues when he sees how much better they're treated, especially if they choose not to follow in their mother's pawsteps when it comes to trades. Just as a hint/look into family dynamics.
Keep in mind key differences between leopards and lions when developing your cub concept, both physically and behaviorally. Leopards are solitary animals while lions prefer to live and hunt socially. Lions are stronger and faster, but leopards are much better at climbing. Lions have an aversion to getting wet while leopards are strong swimmers and fishers. As hybrids, the cubs can expect to show a mix of these traits and even feel conflicted between them as they are raised in lion society.
All hybrid characters - regardless of their sex - are born with low fertility. They are only allowed to have one litter every other IC year.
Names — Arcania doesn't really have a strict convention. Spanish names used to be a thing in the fam, and demon/dark names are always a go.

Physical Traits — It is preferred that the cubs inherit the signature full dorsal of the X'uekai, though not a requirement.

adoption clause
By applying for a cub, you agree to be active with them as a character. Any cubs who fall inactive within 1 IC-year are subject to being taken or adopted back out. Please keep in mind that many hours and thousands of words went into creating these rare hybrid cubs, and we want them to actually be played onsite! While we will not try and steal anyone’s developed character, we ask that you consider adopting them out if you no longer wish to play them later in their life, too.
Cubs should not be on green pvp until they are at least 1 year old. You agree by applying to ask for permission for plots that may drastically affect the lives of the parents (wars, trespassing, cub death, kidnapping, maims, etc) within the first year. This does not mean we will not let any drama happen, just that we don’t want to be blindsided by big stuff.
