There was little to be desired in this land and with each pride taken under another's grasp, it left the large "island" a little smaller. A fraction left over which you could travel through freely which had made a few trip's rather frustrating. Once upon a time, the Rainforest was the prime place to be. A favorite, you could say; filled with life, plenty of shade and he didn't have to go very far for a nice drink. However, peace was never permanent and with the influx of lions alongside him the island grew bigger by the day. Thus forcing others to see the Rainforest as a home which led Jericho far out of its reaches.

Only then did he travel towards the mountain that laid perfectly in the middle of home. It's caverns within would keep him safe from Nature's elements while providing him shelter or a means to disappear if he needed it. There was a lot less traffic coming up these slopes than in the Rainforest which was a nice change. Being up here also helped him feel a little closer to the stars at night; a little closer to the family members that had long since disappeared or had traveled on without him.

As a young boy, traveling had been his only life. After so many months of hearing the same stories over and over about prides and the greedy, he'd come to avoid them. Family kept moving and as they had passed by the entrance to this grand place, Jericho had branched off without a word and had chosen that day that his life would begin. There would be no more wandering for a place to rest or a nice meal to eat, he could sleep wherever he wanted and eat when the opportunity arose.

The only thing's he missed was his mother's stories and her contagious laughter. Jericho forced himself into believing that she would be alright without him - she'd known for a while now that he was itching to find his own path. That he was tired of being a nomad and exhausted from all the traveling that got them nowhere. It was in looking at the stars upon the top of the large Mountain that gave him a solid look.

Periwinkle eyes taking in the large, flat rock that had changed dramatically from the greenery to the hard surface. Grass, moss and trees seemingly not wishing to touch the flat rock that extended out into the sky away from the Mountain. Sun would set soon and with it, the stars would surface.
